Classroom Economy
We will have a classroom economy where students apply for jobs in order to receive weekly paycheck. I feel that this will be great to encourage autonomy and give them a sense of responsibility of the real world. Furthermore, I hope that this will make the day go by smoothly if the students know their important roles in the classroom. This will mirror the real world where they will have jobs, pay rent, pay fines, fill out tax forms, earn money through hard work, and visit the bank for deposits and withdrawals. We will be using MyKidsBank, which is an online artificial banking account where the students can choose to deposit and withdraw money, earn interest, and receive direct deposits.
